Ali and Lang’s story didn’t begin in New York—but it was always headed there.

 

Ali grew up in Vancouver, full of ambition, warmth, and a talent for leading with grace. Lang moved to Vancouver with his family and found his stride in curiosity, creativity, and just the right amount of mischief. They both studied at UVic and graduated from UBC—somehow managing to orbit the same spaces without ever colliding. Not yet.

 

Fate had other plans.

 

Years later, on a well-timed trip to Toronto, they finally met. What began as a simple conversation quickly unraveled into a string of uncanny coincidences: same schools, same passions, and—perhaps most surprising—the same birthday (yes, the exact day… just not the same year, as Ali lovingly reminds Lang).

 

Their connection only grew deeper with time—and across time zones. Lang pursued his MBA at Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University), while Ali rose through the ranks at JP Morgan, becoming a VP. There were long-distance flights, time zone juggling, late-night calls, and early morning check-ins. And through it all, one thing became clear: they were building something real.

 

Now based in New York City, Ali leads with purpose in finance, and Lang is making waves as a venture capitalist in the crypto space. Together, they’ve built a life full of love, ambition, spontaneous travel, and endless laughter.

 

From coffees in Vancouver to milestones in Manhattan, their journey has been anything but ordinary—and now, they’re ready to begin the best chapter yet.
